When might someone require a dental veneer?A lot of times veneers are done for aesthetic reasons. If the teeth are discoloured, had some sporting injuries which chipped the teeth and these chips constantly break and ofcourse they have to be fixed. So a veneer might be an option to do something a bit more long-term and with minor alignment issues, you can use veneers to give the facade that the teeth are aligned. When might someone need a dental crown or bridge?Well, a crown is a full coverage of the tooth. So you may need it if the tooth has been weakend in any way, so if there is a lot of the tooth that is missing, and we are concerned that a normal filling is not good enough, we may suggest a crown. Another reason you would have crown is if you've had a root canal treated tooth. So we need to cover the tooth and seal it to protect the root canal treatment. What is a denture?A denture is a device that allows you to replace missing teeth. It's called a removable device so you can use it during the day and remove it at night when sleeping. It replaces all the teeth in any particular arch. Arch means the top jaw or the bottom jaw. So, it's a pretty cost effective way of replacing missing teeth. What is a dental implant?Dental implant is on the other scale to dentures. It is the best option we have got of replacing missing teeth. It is considered as a fixed option, so you don't remove it. It's always in your jaw and it replaces your missing tooth without you having to constantly remove and replace. The post Types of Cosmetic Dentistry appeared first on King Street Dental.
