What are the most common questions a parent will ask the dentist? Is it going to hurt? I think it's the biggest one, and the answer to that is almost always no. We use local anaesthetic. We numb everybody up before we do any procedures, so you tend to get through it fairly comfortably. when should a parent bring their child to their first dental appointment?Usually we recommend as soon as the child gets teeth. Now, that might seem a little early, and it's not really pointed at checking the teeth, per se. It's more so allowing the child to get used to the dentist, used to coming to the dentist, used to getting procedures done in the chair and such. So it's moreso building some rapport with the young child. So a few years down the track, if there is a procedure that needs to be done, they can get through that without being too hesitant. are dental x-rays safe for children?Absolutely the dose nowadays, with dental X-rays, especially with the new technology, is extremely low. For example, you spend one day or one hour in the sun, you get more radiation than a dental X-ray. What should i do if my child has a toothache? You ring up and you bring them to the dentist. what happens at a child's first dental appointment?First dental visit, especially if they're very young we just try and build some rapport with the child, understand how much cooperation they will allow. Then we make a note of that, and the next time they visit us, we take it a step further and so on. The post Childrenâs Dentistry appeared first on King Street Dental. I've found that one of the keys to making dental visits a positive experience for kids is choosing a pediatric dentist who specializes in treating young patients. They are experts in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment that eases children's anxiety about dental check-ups. Plus, they know how to communicate with kids effectively, which can make a world of difference.
